About
ARTIST’S STATEMENT
My work is rooted in joy, expression, and the space in between. I’m drawn to what isn’t fixed or fully defined - the subtle energy that runs through objects, relationships, and moments.
Painting in the abstract allows me to keep things open. There’s an honesty in not needing everything to resolve, in letting a feeling exist without pinning it down.
My paintings sit somewhere between structure and looseness. They’re physical objects, but also something to live with. They’re small reminders to slow down, take notice, and be present.
I believe art should be part of our everyday spaces, shifting something within us, however nuanced.
BIO
I studied Art Education at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and completed my Master’s at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design. Over time, I’ve continued to explore painting, printmaking, and illustration as part of my practice.
I’ve shown work in group exhibitions at the MassArt Art Museum, the Boston Public Schools After Hours Staff Show, and Images and Words at the Menino Arts Center. I work out of a studio at Boston’s SoWa Arts District and am part of an ongoing artist community through Michelle Armas’ Catalyst program.
Alongside my studio practice, I’ve spent the past 20 years teaching art in the Boston Public Schools.
